it’s been a while since I last posted. I usually try to do a post per game but I’ve not quite managed that. I did manage to get to the opening game of the season thanks to my dad driving me down. I’ve hurt my back (although it has manifested itself as leg pain in my right leg). Today I received a call back from the Doctor to go over my MRI results, they had to be reviewed by a Neurologist hence the 4 week wait. The Doctor said the Neurologist noted bulges or compressions at right L5, Left L4 and nerve impingement at right S1/S2.
The Neurologist wants to see me in the clinic (based on these results and they don’t know I’ve been visiting a Chiropractor). The Doctor is going to send a note to say I’m improving a great deal.
The Doctor thinks the Neurologist might still want to see me but we can see how it goes. He gave no real indication to when the Neurologist would see me, it might be a while.
The Doctor said to continue with the Chiropractor, especially if it’s making me better.
I don’t know what I would have done with out the Chiropractor visits, I would just be rolling around on the bed doped up to the eyeballs waiting.
I’m now down to visiting the Chiropractor every other day rather than every day.(as of this week).
My current pain isn’t anywhere near the level it was but I get quite severe pins and needles in my right leg if I stand for a bit or walk a few yards but I have to push on with it. That aside it’s the hamstring that’s giving me the greatest problem just now. I’m reducing my painkillers so they might be masking some of the pain in other areas.
I’m still very low on stamina and it’s an effort to walk 50 yards without stopping at least once but I’m working on that.(just have to go for a short walk and gradually increase the distance over time). I’m not quite at the stage to do any strengthening exercise yet and I still can’t drive due to my weakness/pain and the painkillers. This is the reason I’ve missed all the pre season friendlies and the betfred cup games.
As I said I managed the first game of the season but couldn’t make the trip to Hampden at the weekend. I’ll also miss out on the IRN BRU Cup game tonight against Airdrie. It’s a bit much to ask my dad to drive down mid week, he’s 80 now and it’s a late night getting home.
We will however make the Cowdenbeath game on Saturday. It’s about half an hour away and should be no problem. It’s a game I fully expect to get 3 points from. I know it’s early in the season but we need to be taking points from the teams who tend to be down at the bottom of the table to ensure we’re as far from the bottom as possible. It’s going to be another tough season but I think we have the makings of a decent team, a bit inexperienced but hopefully that can be gained quickly. All the boardroom shenanigans seem to have settled down fairly quickly and hopefully we can move in the right direction.
